A useful fit for

A fit for homes where a measured route clears the 3.9-inch robot and the owner wants dual spinning pads with automatic 75°C dock washing but does not need the CurvX's lower body or documented warm-water mop supply.

The main tradeoff

It is not a high-pile-carpet choice under its manual, supports only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, has no listed RGB-camera viewing package, and its 5,200mAh battery and 2cm threshold figure are below the original Curv's published values. Its 3.9-inch height is still far above the CurvX's 3.14 inches.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Will the Qrevo Curv S5X fit beneath furniture with four inches of clear height?

The US product page lists a 3.9-inch robot. A four-inch gap leaves little spare margin, so measure rugs, fabric and floor transitions at the lowest point rather than treating the nominal measurement as a guarantee.

Does the S5X dock wash the mop pads at a listed temperature of at least 75°C?

Yes. Roborock lists up to 75°C hot-water pad washing in the multifunction dock. That is the pad-wash stage, not evidence that warm water is supplied to the robot while it mops.

Can the Qrevo Curv S5X connect where only 5GHz Wi-Fi is available?

No. The user manual specifies 2.4GHz Wi-Fi; a 5GHz-only connection is not supported.

Does the S5X manual permit high-pile carpet use?

No. The US manual says not to use the robot on high-pile carpet and notes possible effectiveness reduction on dark carpeting.

The Roborock Qrevo Curv S5X is the shorter, simpler sibling in this three-model Curv comparison: its robot is listed at 3.9 inches high, and the supplied Multifunctional Dock 3.0 washes mop pads with water up to 75°C. It sits between the 4.1-inch original Qrevo Curv and the 3.14-inch CurvX, but it is not simply a Curv with a different shell. The S5X uses a 5,200mAh battery, LDS and structured-light navigation, and a mop-lift setup that lacks the original Curv's automatic main-brush lift. Its exact US machine and dock codes are RRE0VIC and EWFD26LRR.

Measure the low route, then leave a margin

Roborock lists a 13.9-by-13.7-by-3.9-inch robot. That makes the S5X a little shorter than the original Curv, but still much taller than the retractable-LiDAR CurvX. A four-inch sofa opening leaves little spare room once you account for a rug edge, sagging upholstery, a floor transition or an uneven surface. Measure the lowest point across the full route instead of buying to the nominal height alone. A passage under 3.9 inches points away from this model; the CurvX is the lower of these three, at 3.14 inches.

The S5X uses LDS mapping and structured-light obstacle avoidance. Roborock's comparison distinguishes it from the Curv's RGB camera and remote-view features; do not assume the S5X can provide those camera functions. The product page advertises 18,500Pa maximum suction and its own carpet-removal figures. These are manufacturer claims, not a pickup result measured in your rooms. Hair, grit, carpet construction, maintenance and selected modes still shape what reaches the dustbin.

Understand what the dock heats

The supplied dock washes the dual spinning mop pads with water heated up to 75°C and dries them with air listed up to 45°C. It also empties dust, refills the robot's tank, and cleans its own tray. The published “up to seven weeks” dust-bag interval is an estimate, not a calendar promise. The dock's 4-liter clean-water and 3-liter dirty-water tanks and its 17.7-inch-square footprint make this a station to plan around, not a small charger.

Roborock documents warm, hot and room-temperature mop-wash settings, but that describes cleaning the cloths in the dock. The product page does not describe warm water being supplied to the robot during floor mopping as it does for the CurvX, so do not treat those as the same feature. The S5X's mop module lifts over carpets, while the Curv's comparison adds automatic main-brush lifting as well. If your routine needs the main brush to rise automatically for mop-only work, check that difference before choosing.

The product-page box list includes three disposable dust bags and an extra DuoDivide main brush along with the robot, dock, mop module, cord and manual. Confirm the exact retailer package you are buying; a shop bundle can differ from the manufacturer's listed box.

Carpet instructions are stricter than the headline

The product page promotes carpet settings and manufacturer-tested hair-removal claims, but the US manual explicitly says not to use the machine on high-pile carpets and warns that dark carpeting can reduce effectiveness. Treat the manual limit as a real restriction. A carpet-boost mode is not evidence that a deep, long-fiber rug is supported. If high-pile coverage is essential, choose another model with unambiguous manual support or ask Roborock about the exact carpet first.

Roborock's support comparison also lists a maximum threshold crossing of about two centimeters for the S5X, below the Curv's published three-centimeter standard and four-centimeter double-layer figures. Those are manufacturer's controlled maximums, not promises for every rug binding or doorway track. Measure the step and test the actual route; a low body does not automatically make it better over a tall lip.

App access and care remain part of ownership

The manual specifies 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only and app setup; a 5GHz-only network does not satisfy the documented connection requirement. Place the dock on hard, level floor against a wall, with roughly 0.46 meters of width, 1.2 meters of depth and 0.9 meters of height reserved. The manual advises watching the first complete route and clearing cords and loose objects.

Before its first mop cycle, vacuum the floor at least three times. Clean the washable filter every two weeks and replace it every six to twelve months; let it dry fully before reinstalling. Mop cloths need cleaning as required and replacement every one to three months, and the side brush is listed for monthly cleaning with three-to-six-month replacement. You will still empty the dirty tank, refill clean water, replace dust bags and remove residue from the tray. Use only Roborock-recommended solution, never disinfectant, and do not rinse the robot or dock.

Who should choose the S5X?

Shortlist the Qrevo Curv S5X if a roughly four-inch body clears your furniture, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is available and you want spinning-pad mopping with a dock that washes at up to 75°C. Compared with the Curv, it is shorter and avoids the RGB-camera package, but gives up battery capacity and some threshold and brush-lift capability. Compared with the CurvX, it costs you the lower 3.14-inch profile, retractable LiDAR and its documented warm-water mopping and 80°C wash upgrades. Read the original Curv assessment and CurvX assessment alongside this one. If you do not want tanks, washable cloths and a large station at all, compare a vacuum-only robot instead.
