A practical comparison
Roborock QV 35A, Q7 M5+ or Curv 2 Flow: choose the mop routine
A robot vacuum-mop’s station and mop mechanism can matter as much as suction claims. The Roborock QV 35A, Q7 M5+ and Qrevo Curv 2 Flow illustrate three different routines: spinning pads that a dock washes, a flat cloth on a dust-only dock, and a powered roller with its own wash-and-refill station. None is a universal upgrade. Start with the work you want the machine to take over, then check the route and manual limits.
Pick the dock work you actually want
The QV 35A’s EWFD36LRR station empties dust, washes the dual spinning pads, dries them with cold air and refills the robot’s electronic tank from removable water tanks. This reduces between-run mop handling but does not remove the owner’s work: clean-water filling, dirty-water emptying, dust-bag replacement and cleaning the dock tray remain. The station also needs a hard level location, power and the manual’s setup clearances.
The Q7 M5+ is the lighter-touch station choice in the other direction. Its dock auto-empties dust but does not wash, dry or refill a mop. Its flat cloth uses three water-flow levels from a manually filled onboard tank; the owner washes and air-dries the cloth and removes leftover water. That is a simpler dock arrangement if you do not want a wash station, but it means more direct care of the mop.
The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow also has an all-in-one removable-tank station, but the robot’s mop is a powered roller that is rinsed and scraped during operation rather than two spinning pads. Roborock specifies 75°C dock washing for that model; that refers to station washing, not warm water applied to the floor. Its official page describes wet-mess recognition, while its manual cautions against operation when liquid or sticky material is on the floor. Do not treat it as a wet-spill cleaner.
Check the route, not just the headline
Roborock lists the QV 35A at 3.8 inches high, the Q7 M5+ at 3.9 inches and the Curv 2 Flow at 119 mm, about 4.69 inches. Those are body dimensions, not clearance guarantees: measure the lowest point the robot must pass and account for carpet edges, loose fringe and floor irregularity. The QV 35A and Q7 M5+ pages give 2 cm threshold claims; the Curv 2 Flow exact product page and manual do not publish a minimum crossing threshold. A questionnaire that treats that unknown as a pass would overstate the evidence.
Carpet requirements can rule out a model before mop features matter. The QV 35A and Q7 M5+ manuals say not to use the robot on high-pile carpet and caution about dark carpet. The Curv 2 Flow manual also says not to use it on high-pile carpet and notes reduced effectiveness on dark carpet. Mop lifting or carpet-detection strategies do not erase those instructions. If thick pile is essential, none of these three has confirmed support in the reviewed US documents.
Separate advertised performance from verified fit
The QV 35A page lists 8,000 Pa suction and a maximum 200 rpm pad speed with an internal-test footnote. The Q7 M5+ lists 10,000 Pa suction; the Curv 2 Flow lists its own maximum suction specification. These are manufacturer figures, not comparable independent pickup tests. They do not establish how well a model handles hair, sand, cereal or a stain in a particular home. Use them as published specifications only when a minimum number is genuinely important, and do not confuse them with route, noise or maintenance evidence.
All three depend on the Roborock app for fuller setup and settings, and their manuals require 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi rather than a 5 GHz-only network. Their more meaningful difference is the chore after a run. With QV 35A, plan to service tanks, pads, tray and dust bag. With Q7 M5+, plan to wash the flat cloth and empty its small water tank yourself. With Curv 2 Flow, understand the roller’s wash-water, scraper and channel care, plus the larger robot body and its spill-related manual caution.
A practical choice
Choose QV 35A if twin spinning pads and dock washing fit your floors, you want auto-emptying, and removable water tanks are acceptable. Choose Q7 M5+ if dust auto-emptying is enough and you prefer a straightforward cloth mop you will wash by hand. Choose Curv 2 Flow if a continuously refreshed roller is the mop movement you want and its taller robot and documented floor restrictions suit your route. Compare the exact QV 35A review, Q7 M5+ review and Curv 2 Flow review before selecting; their app, dock and carpet details are not interchangeable.
