Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the Q7 M5+ use a fixed cloth mop with three water-flow levels?
Yes. Roborock lists a removable cloth mop and three app water-flow choices; the owner still fills the robot tank and washes and air-dries the cloth.
Explore this need in the finder →Will the Q7 M5+ fit through a four-inch furniture opening?
Its listed height is 3.9 inches, leaving little margin. Measure rugs, sagging upholstery and the lowest point on the entire route.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the Q7 M5+ connect on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network?
Yes. The linked Q7 Series FCC manual says only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is supported; a 5GHz-only network is not compatible.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it be shortlisted when high-pile carpet support is essential?
No. Its exact Q7 Series manual says not to use it on high-pile carpet and cautions that dark-carpet effectiveness may be reduced.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the Q7 M5+ dock wash the mop?
No. AED08LRR empties dust; the manual requires the owner to remove, wash and air-dry the cloth and empty unused tank water.
Explore this need in the finder →The Roborock Q7 M5+ is a straightforward vacuum-mop with a dust-emptying station: Roborock lists 10,000 Pa maximum suction, LiDAR mapping, a dual anti-tangle brush system and three water-flow levels. Its strongest fit is a home that wants scheduled vacuuming and occasional damp wiping, but does not need rotating or vibrating pads or a dock that washes them. The “+” is important: this package includes the auto-empty dock, while the Q7 M5 name without the plus refers to the standard charging-dock option.
A simple cloth mop, not a mop-cleaning station
The supplied mop is a flat cloth on a removable mount. The robot draws water from its own dustbin-and-tank combination, and the app offers three water-flow settings. That can be useful for a light maintenance pass on compatible hard floors, but it is a simpler arrangement than the Q10 S5+ vibrating cloth or Q10 X5+ automatically lifted pad. It also lacks the twin spinning pads and dock washing found on a Qrevo Curv S5X. These are different routines, not a ranking of stain removal: Roborock’s suction and navigation figures are maker specifications, not independent pickup or mopping results.
The setup asks you to do the wet work. The manual says to fill the robot’s tank with tap water, dampen and wring the cloth, then attach it. Before the first mopping cycle, vacuum the floor at least three times. Afterward, empty leftover water promptly, wash the cloth and air-dry it. The station does not refill the robot, wash the cloth or dry it; it empties dust. Keep a routine for the cloth and tank, and check the manual before using a floor cleaner rather than adding an unapproved chemical.
Dust emptying reduces one chore, not all upkeep
RockDock Plus is a compact dust-only station with a disposable bag. Roborock lists a 2.7-litre bag and up to seven weeks between changes in its own testing. That interval is a ceiling, not a household promise: pet hair, grit, number of rooms and schedule all affect it. The manual still calls for bag replacement when full and care for the dock filter, robot filter, brushes, wheels, mop cloth and combo bin. If your main goal is for the station to take over dirty-water disposal and mop washing, this is the wrong dock class.
The robot is listed at 12.8 inches wide and long and 3.9 inches high. A four-inch furniture opening therefore has little spare room for a rug edge, sagging upholstery or an uneven floor; measure the whole route rather than treating the nominal height as a clearance guarantee. Roborock also lists a 2 cm climbing ability. Treat it as a manufacturer maximum, not proof the robot will cross a particular rug binding or threshold in your home.
Navigation and the limits that matter
PreciSense LiDAR scans and maps rooms, supports multiple floor maps and lets you schedule and direct cleaning through the Roborock app. The exact Q7 M5+ materials also describe smart no-go-zone suggestions. They do not give a model-specific count of recognized objects or describe a separate camera-based obstacle system, so do not assume it will reliably identify every cable, toy or pet accident. Clear loose items before unattended runs and watch the first complete route.
The linked Q7 Series FCC manual identifies robot RRA0TCP and the auto-empty dock AED08LRR. It supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, says not to use the robot on high-pile carpet and warns that effectiveness may be reduced on dark carpet. Carpet boost is a cleaning setting, not permission to ignore those limits. The manual’s dock-placement diagram also asks for an open area—at least 1.6 feet at each side and 4.9 feet in front—so measure the station location as well as the robot’s route.
Which Q7 M5+ listing should you consider?
The official new US listing offers black and white finish SKUs with the same Q7 M5+ package. Roborock also lists a black “Certified Refurbished 90% New” Q7 M5+ offer. Its refurbished policy describes professionally inspected and cleaned, pre-owned units that may show minor cosmetic wear; the policy says batteries are tested to retain around 80% of original capacity, and specifies a six-month limited warranty and 30-day return window. That is a separate ownership tradeoff from buying new, not evidence about the condition of an individual unit. The Q7 refurb store page also displayed a generic one-year warranty badge on inspection, while Roborock’s specific certified-refurbished policy says six months; check the specific coverage terms shown for the offer before ordering. The archived product render shows the black model and dock, not a particular refurbished unit or its cosmetic condition.
Choose the Q7 M5+ if you want a manageable dust-emptying dock and can handle cloth washing, tank emptying, 2.4 GHz setup and a simple three-level mop. Choose Q10 S5+ if a vibrating cloth matters; choose Q10 X5+ if its automatically lifted pad better fits your carpet transitions. Both Q10+ alternatives add Reactive Tech obstacle avoidance to the LiDAR navigation and use the AED09LRR dust dock, but neither turns that station into a mop washer. If you want dual spinning pads with dock washing and drying, compare the Qrevo Curv S5X instead, while checking its own carpet and maintenance limits. For the exact Q7 M5+ package and setup details, consult Roborock’s US product page, the Q7 Series FCC manual, and the official refurbished-device policy.
