A useful fit for

A real design comparison for an Edge-series vacuum-mop: the S5A is listed at 98 mm/3.86 inches, has two rotating mop pads and the same EWFD30LRR tank-dock code, and names DuoDivide/FlexiArm. Its exact U.S. suction page is inconsistent, and it has no numeric crossing claim.

The main tradeoff

The U.S. store described the black and white S5A listings as out of stock/coming soon and not yet launched at the check date, so neither finish is a current buying result. The official page also gives conflicting suction values and an inch conversion inconsistent with its 98-mm height. Its 5200-mAh robot has no documented AdaptiLift capability; do not transfer the base Edge's threshold figures. The manual rules out high-pile carpet and requires 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi and removable-tank care.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Will the S5A fit below a four-inch opening?

Roborock's exact Edge Series page lists the robot as 352 × 352 × 98 mm (about 3.86 inches high); the U.S. S5A detail page also gives 9.79 cm. One parenthetical inches field instead says 4.06 inches, which conflicts with those metric values, so measure the route and treat the imperial line cautiously.

Does this exact S5A manual support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi?

Yes. Its model-specific FCC manual says only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is supported; 5 GHz-only Wi-Fi is not a confirmed operating plan.

Is the advertised suction rating high enough for a strict 18,000 Pa minimum?

The exact U.S. listing is internally inconsistent: its summary advertises 18,500 Pa while its S5A description and FAQ say 17,000 Pa. Since the maker does not reconcile the figures, the stored rating is unknown and cannot meet an essential numeric minimum.

Does S5A's hot-water dock wash document warm water on the floor?

No floor-mopping temperature is stated. The manual's clean-water tank is filled with cold tap water; 75°C is a dock mop-washing claim, not a floor-water temperature.

Does the S5A have the base Qrevo Edge's AdaptiLift threshold claim?

No. Roborock's Edge-series comparison reserves the liftable chassis and 3/4-centimeter claims for the Qrevo Edge model. No numeric threshold claim is documented for the S5A in its exact U.S. page/manual.

Does the model-specific manual list a high-pile carpet operating plan?

No. The FCC manual says not to use the product on high-pile carpets and warns that dark carpets can reduce effectiveness.

Does the exact S5A U.S. page name a DuoDivide main brush?

Yes. The S5A product page names DuoDivide and the Arc side brush. The anti-tangle certification language is a manufacturer claim, not independent carpet or hair testing.

The Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A is the shorter, less fully specified member of the U.S. Qrevo Edge family. Its exact U.S. native listing is product 7637394194550 with two finish variants: Black, SKU RR-QrevoEdgeS5A5-M2, and White, SKU RR-QrevoEdgeS5A0-M2. The FCC manual names robot RRE0VCM and the EWFD30LRR tank dock. Those exact product and model codes matter: the base Qrevo Edge uses a different robot code and documents a liftable chassis, while Edge 2 is a later, separate package. At the October 24, 2026 check, the S5A page said “Out of stock, coming soon” and its prelaunch message said it had not yet launched; this is a reference review, not a current buying recommendation.

What is confirmed about the S5A

The U.S. page describes a two-pad vacuum-mop with automatically lifting and rotating mop modules, a DuoDivide main brush and FlexiArm Arc side brush/mop. The exact product page lists a Multifunctional Dock 3.0 with auto dust emptying, water refill, hot-water pad washing and warm-air drying. Roborock specifies 75°C for the dock wash and 45°C for drying air. Neither number tells you the temperature of water applied to the floor. The FCC manual says to fill the clean-water tank with cold tap water, so this review does not count it as a warm-floor-water model.

The manual identifies a clean-water tank, dirty-water tank and disposable dust bag in dock model EWFD30LRR. It is a removable-tank setup, not a documented fixed-plumbing package. The manufacturer claims up to seven weeks before a dust bag needs emptying, but actual service depends on pet hair, debris, schedule and settings. You still need to fill and empty tanks, clean the tray and replace consumables. For the first mop session, Roborock recommends vacuuming the floors at least three times before mopping.

Shorter than the base Edge, without its threshold system

Roborock's exact Edge-series table gives the S5A dimensions as 352 × 352 × 98 mm, and the S5A FAQ describes a 9.79-cm height. That metric figure converts to about 3.86 inches. The same U.S. product page also contains a parenthetical specification of 13.86 × 13.66 × 4.06 inches, which does not agree with 98 mm or 9.79 cm. The height fact here uses the consistent metric statements and makes the conflicting imperial line explicit. Measure your own opening and allow for uneven floors and furniture fabric rather than relying on rounded marketing text.

The S5A does not inherit the base Edge's AdaptiLift chassis. Roborock's series page explicitly limits that chassis and its up-to-3-cm standard/up-to-4-cm double-layer threshold claims to the Qrevo Edge model. The exact S5A product page and FCC manual do not provide a numeric crossing maximum. If a threshold is essential, unknown is not a match. This is an important difference even though both robots have Edge in their names and share the EWFD30LRR dock code.

Two exact-page conflicts change how to shop

The U.S. S5A listing advertises 18,500 Pa in its feature summary, but the detailed description and its FAQ say 17,000 Pa. The exact listing does not explain the discrepancy. Rather than selecting the larger figure, this assessment records suction as unknown, so the robot cannot pass a strict suction minimum. It is not a measured cleaning test or an independent claim that either number is false.

The FCC manual supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, not a 5 GHz-only network. It says not to use the robot on high-pile carpet and warns that effectiveness can be reduced on dark carpet. The Edge-series page reserves its mid-to-high-pile liftable chassis feature for the base Edge, not S5A. Both machines can move mop mounts to clean carpet, but that does not override the manual's pile warning. The manual also says the floor must be free of water and sticky material; obstacle avoidance is not a wet-spill feature.

Who should keep it on a watch list?

If eventually launched, the S5A would make sense to compare for a home that values a shorter listed robot and twin rotating pads but does not need the original Edge's specific threshold-lifting chassis. Its dock is still large: the product page lists 340 × 487 × 521 mm. Allow the manual's larger placement envelope—at least 0.4 m wide, 1.2 m in front and 0.9 m high—and provide a grounded 120 V outlet. The manual's 2.4 GHz requirement, high-pile prohibition, cold-water tank fill and unresolved suction figure are practical filters, not minor footnotes.

For now, the exact U.S. listing remains prelaunch and is withheld from buying results. Black and White are finish-only options in one assessed operating plan, not two performance versions. Read Roborock's exact S5A U.S. page, Edge-series comparison and S5A FCC/IC manual. For the separate original Edge model, see the Qrevo Edge assessment; do not apply the Edge 2's separate specifications to either one.

Certified refurb is a condition-and-warranty choice

Roborock separately lists a certified-refurbished S5A (product 8064738361462) with Black and White finishes, SKUs RR-QrevoEdgeS5A5R-M2 and RR-QrevoEdgeS5A0R-M1. Its native record binds both finishes to the same images used here; its feature list does not specify a changed robot or dock mode. They are condition variants under the same operating plan, not a new configuration. On October 24, 2026 the exact refurbished S5A offer remained out of stock/coming soon and not yet launched.

Roborock's refurbishment FAQ describes pre-owned, inspected and cleaned units, possible slight wear, and batteries tested around 80% of original capacity. That is a program statement, not a unit test. Its warranty terms give certified refurbs six months of limited coverage; the exact S5A listing states 30-day returns. “90% New” is a condition label, not proof of suction, mopping or battery results. If relisted, check the finish, box contents and return/warranty terms; the current unavailable status and conflicting suction figures remain.
