A practical comparison
Roborock Q7 Max or Q7 Max+: which dock routine fits?
Roborock’s Q7 Max and Q7 Max+ share a Q380RR robot and a pump-fed flat-cloth mop. The practical difference is the dock package: the U.S. Q7 Max listing names a standard charging dock; Q7 Max+ names an Auto-Empty Dock Pure. Neither exact package is a dock-washed-mop system. If you are choosing between them, decide first whether you want to empty dust by hand or maintain a bagged auto-empty station. Then check the mop routine, network and room constraints that are easy to overlook in a product title.
Compare the two packages
| Question | Q7 Max | Q7 Max+ |
|---|---|---|
| What is in the package? | Q380RR robot, flat cloth mop and standard charging-dock package. | Q380RR robot with the named Auto-Empty Dock Pure package. |
| How is dust emptied? | By hand from the robot’s dustbin. | The dock empties dust into a bag; Roborock lists 2.5 L and up to seven weeks, both manufacturer claims. |
| How is the mop maintained? | Owner fills and empties the robot tank, removes and washes the cloth, and lets it dry. | The same owner-managed water and cloth routine. The dock does not wash or dry the pad. |
| What is the mop system? | Flat cloth, electronic pump, 30 listed water-flow levels and 300 g listed pressure. | The same documented cloth-and-pump system and 30 listed flow levels. |
| Is the exact included dock suffix confirmed? | No. The product box names a charging dock; the exact manual lists compatible station families but does not bind this native offer to one suffix. | No. The listing names Dock Pure; the separate dock manual covers AED03LRR/AED04LRR, but the product offer does not identify which suffix is bundled. |
Shared fit questions matter as much as the dock
Roborock’s U.S. product pages describe a 4,200 Pa maximum suction rating, 5,200 mAh battery and up to three hours of runtime. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent pickup or runtime results; the Q7 Max page’s social/meta description conflicts with its title and detailed feature copy by saying 4,700 Pa. Do not choose between the two packages on that single number. Both models use LiDAR mapping, support app-based schedules and no-go zones, and are documented for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. A 5-GHz-only network is not a confirmed fit.
The linked Q7 Max FCC manual says not to use the robot on high-pile carpet and warns that dark carpet may reduce effectiveness. Roborock lists a body around 13.90 by 13.78 by 3.80 inches. Measure the tightest opening along the full route and leave margin around an uneven threshold or rug edge. The product pages list mopping and vacuuming area maxima under specific internal test conditions; these are not an area guarantee for your rooms. Neither Q7 Max offer should be selected for a required crossing height: the reviewed exact U.S. pages do not provide a maximum step claim for either configuration.
Choose by chore, not by the plus sign alone
Choose Q7 Max if you prefer the simpler charging base, have no need for automatic dust emptying and do not mind emptying the robot after runs. Choose Q7 Max+ if the dust bag station is worth its additional footprint and bag replacement to you. If you need an auto-empty dock plus a published threshold claim, Q7 M5+ is a separate option: it has three flow levels and an exact 2 cm manufacturer climb claim, but those facts do not transfer to either Q7 Max variant. The Q7 L5 similarly has three flow levels with a standard dock and no threshold figure in its reviewed exact page/manual.
For different wet-floor routines, the Q10 S5/S5+ use a vibrating cloth and Q10 X5/X5+ document an automatically lifted pad; Qrevo Curv S5X uses spinning pads and dock washing/drying. Those are different mechanisms and maintenance plans, not a performance ladder. Read each model’s own manual and carpet limitations before choosing around floor type.
Verify the exact offer
The black and white native Q7 Max SKUs are RR-Q75Max-M1 and RR-Q70Max-M1; Q7 Max+ SKUs are RR-Q75MaxPlus-M1 and RR-Q70MaxPlus-M1. The captured Roborock records showed those variants unavailable on October 24, 2026, so treat that as a dated stock observation rather than a discontinuation declaration. Check the exact retailer package, current availability and return terms. See our Q7 Max review and Q7 Max+ review, then consult the official Q7 Max, Q7 Max+, and Q7 Max FCC manual pages. The Q7 Max+ image render shows a matching robot and dock but cannot prove the included dock’s exact station suffix.
