Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the Q10 X5 automatically empty its dustbin at the included dock?
No. The X5 listing includes a standard charging dock; the X5+ is a distinct auto-empty package, and Roborock says the plain X5 will not auto-empty on an X5+ dock.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the Q10 X5 have an automatic-lift mop pad over carpet?
Yes. The exact model page describes carpet-triggered automatic lifting and the Q10 family page lists an 8mm lift claim. This is not VibraRise 2.0 vibration.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the Q10 X5 connect on 2.4GHz-only Wi-Fi?
Yes. Its exact FCC/IC manual says 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only; it does not document 5GHz-only support.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the Q10 X5 be selected if high-pile carpet support is essential?
No. The exact manual forbids high-pile carpet and warns that dark carpet may reduce effectiveness.
Explore this need in the finder →The Roborock Q10 X5 combines a 10,000Pa manufacturer-rated vacuum, LiDAR mapping and an automatically lifted cloth mop with a standard charging dock. The “X5” package is easy to confuse with the Q10 X5+: the latter adds a dust auto-empty station, while the plain X5 leaves bin emptying to you. It is also a different mop choice from the Q10 S5: Roborock describes X5 as an automatic-lift pad, while S5 uses the vibrating VibraRise 2.0 module.
A useful map and a compact charging base
The exact US page describes PreciSense LiDAR for room mapping, multi-floor maps, Reactive Tech structured-light obstacle avoidance, room schedules, no-go areas and carpet boost. Those functions can make routine cleaning less hands-on, but they are not a guarantee that every cable, small toy or fragile object will be spotted. Clear loose items before runs, supervise the first complete route and mark repeated trouble spots in the app. The product page advertises a 5200mAh battery, up to 150 minutes and a maximum vacuuming-area figure based on Roborock's own internal test; floor plan, suction setting and obstacles affect what a real home run covers. Treat the 10,000Pa suction figure as a maker rating, not a measured pickup comparison.
The base package includes a charging dock, adapter, mop module and cloth, mat and manual. The manual identifies the X5 robot as RRA1TAL and its charging dock as SPCDZ04RR; the power adapter accepts 100–240V input. The dock is only 6.30 × 2.76 × 3.98 inches, so it is much less bulky than a wash-and-dry station. But there is no dust auto-emptying: after a run, empty the robot's bin. The manufacturer FAQ explicitly says an X5 robot will not auto-empty even if placed on an X5+ dock, and the X5+ dock is not sold separately. Avoid treating the plus package as a supported accessory upgrade for this robot.
Automatic mop lift is not a self-cleaning mop
Roborock's Q10 family materials place X5 in the auto-lifting mop group and state an 8mm lift claim. The pad lifts in the carpet routine, then lowers again for mopping; it is a flat reusable cloth, not the S5's vibrating VibraRise 2.0 system and not a rotating-pad mop. A combined dustbin and water tank must be manually filled. For the first mop run, the manual says to vacuum the floor at least three times first. After mopping, remove the cloth, wash and air-dry it, and empty unused water from the tank. A compact charging dock has no water tanks, mop wash, mop dryer or automatic refill, so choose this model only if that simple routine fits your household.
The robot's 3.9-inch height is close to the four-inch clearance many furniture listings advertise. Measure the actual path rather than relying on the label; a rug, uneven floor or low upholstered edge can remove the remaining margin. Roborock's manual says not to use the robot on high-pile carpet and warns that dark carpet may reduce effectiveness. An auto-lifting pad and carpet-detection routine do not change that restriction. For a high-pile room that the robot must enter, require explicit support in the chosen model's manual instead.
Roborock's U.S. family page pairs Q10 X5 with the Q10 PF retailer name. The manufacturer-hosted Q10 PF FCC manual identifies the RRA1TAL robot and SPCDZ04RR charging dock, matching this standard-dock X5 configuration. Home Depot's exact Q10 PF listing is a helpful shopping cross-check; do not confuse the no-plus PF name with PF+, which adds the AED09LRR dust-emptying station.
Choose the X5 when pad movement matters
The X5 suits homes with a mix of hard floor and ordinary rugs where an automatic-lift pad is more useful than vibrating mop action, and where you want a map without a large wet-service station. It requires 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only for app connection, so a 5GHz-only network is not a supported setup. Roborock lists both Black and White variants under the same exact X5 product record; their finish does not alter the operating package.
Compare the Q10 X5+ if automatic dust emptying is worth its larger AED09LRR station, remembering that the X5+'s dock still does not take care of mop washing. Compare the Q10 S5 when a vibrating cloth is a priority, or the Qrevo Curv S5X when the attraction is an auto-washing dock and twin spinning pads. They are materially different routines, not simply stronger suction alternatives. If the priority is dust auto-emptying on the X5 mechanism, the X5+ is the documented package; if the priority is a low-footprint charger and hand-emptying is acceptable, the plain X5 is the exact configuration assessed here.
Roborock's own page and manual define the limits above; no in-home performance test is claimed. The image below is the manufacturer-rendered black robot variant, shown with a phone illustration rather than a real-use scene. The render does not show the charging dock or prove any box contents; the exact US box list and variant record identify the charger package.
