Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is a dual-spinning-pad mop essential, rather than a roller or flat cloth?
The exact 507 uses two rotating pads. Choose a different system if you require a powered roller or a removable flat microfiber pad.
Explore this need in the finder →Can your dock sit where removable water tanks are practical, without a fixed supply and drain?
The 507 guide describes separate removable clean- and dirty-water tanks; a fixed water line and drain are not documented.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the 4.2-inch body low enough for the tightest opening on your robot's route?
The listed robot height is 4.2 inches. A 4.25-inch opening is nominally taller but leaves almost no margin; a 4-inch opening is below the published body height.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need a published minimum dock pad-wash temperature?
The 507 washes and dries pads, but its checked U.S. page and guide publish no wash-water temperature. Do not count it toward a numeric minimum.
Explore this need in the finder →Must the manufacturer publish a high-pile carpet limit for this robot?
The 507 detects carpet and lifts pads, but the checked U.S. sources give no maximum pile height; an essential high-pile condition remains unconfirmed.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the 507's setup guidance name the Wi-Fi band your home can use?
The exact guide requires a Wi-Fi connection but does not identify 2.4- or 5-GHz support. A band-specific requirement cannot be treated as met from this evidence.
Explore this need in the finder →The Roomba Plus 507 Combo robot + AutoWash dock is a mapped vacuum-mop package built around two spinning mop pads and a dock that handles dust emptying, pad washing and drying. Black N186020 is Product ID 885155045935. Its box includes the robot, AutoWash dock, an extra dust bag, an extra filter and the power cord. It is a separate 507 package, not a 505 finish: its carton lists an extra filter, while the 505 includes spare mop pads.
What the dock takes off your hands—and what it does not
When the 507 returns, its dock attempts to empty the robot's dust bin. During a mopping job it can return to refresh and wash the pads as needed, then wash them again when cleaning is complete. The owner guide describes forced-air drying at the end of the routine; the app offers selectable drying times, and the dock may hum for several hours. The guide does not specify a drying-air temperature, and a dryer cycle is not evidence of heated water washing the pads or hot water being put on the floor.
The dock still needs attention. You lift out the removable clean-water tank to fill it, empty and rinse the dirty-water tank, replace a bag when the indicator or app says it is full, and clean the pad-washing basin. The guide suggests monthly attention to the basin and dock sensors, weekly filter cleaning (twice weekly with a pet), a weekly brush check, and periodic contact and caster care. It recommends replacing the robot filter every three to six months and the multisurface brush every six to twelve months; actual intervals depend on wear and use. There is no published tank capacity in the reviewed U.S. material, so a household that must estimate refill frequency from a number cannot do that here.
Choose the right kind of mopping
The manufacturer says the dual pads spin at 200 rpm, extend closer to edges through PerfectEdge and can use SmartScrub's additional back-and-forth movement. It also advertises suction as 70 times more intense than Roomba 600-series robots. Those are relative design and manufacturer claims, not an independent stain-removal or pickup test, and iRobot does not give a Pa suction figure for this exact package in the sources checked. The app offers four modes: vacuum only, mop only, vacuum and mop together, or vacuum first and then mop. It also has repeat passes and adjustable suction settings.
iRobot says the mop pads lift when carpet is sensed and that the robot avoids carpets in mop and combined modes. That can simplify a mixed-floor routine, but it is not a promise for every rug or a published high-pile limit. If an exact supported pile height is a hard requirement, the 507 should not pass that filter on the evidence available. The owner guide also warns against mopping unsealed hardwood and some laminate or vinyl plank floors because water can damage the floor or subfloor. Use the mop only on surfaces your flooring maker considers suitable, and follow the current compatible-solution list in the Roomba app; the guide says not to substitute unapproved cleaners or bleach-based products.
Mapping and network requirements are part of the purchase
ClearView LiDAR creates maps, while the front camera and PrecisionVision features are described as recognizing objects such as cords, shoes and pet waste. The page claims up to five maps with automatic room naming. Treat recognition as assistance, not a guarantee for every obstacle. The Roomba Home app and a Wi-Fi connection are required to finish setup and are used for room routines and scheduling. The exact 507 materials reviewed here do not specify whether this SKU supports 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz or both, so a home that is restricted to one band should verify that compatibility before choosing it. Apple Home/Matter is listed, with stated iOS/iPadOS and home-hub requirements for different controls.
Measure the route and reserve dock space
The robot is listed at 14.1 by 13.8 by 4.2 inches and 9.44 pounds. A 4.25-inch opening is only 0.05 inches taller than the published body, which is not a comfortable allowance for floor unevenness, rug edges or a low furniture skirt. A 4-inch opening is below the stated height. Measure the tightest point of the entire route rather than just the first doorway. The station needs a hard, level floor and clear approach. Its owner guide calls for 1.5 meters (5 feet) from stairs, 1.5 meters in front and 0.5 meters at each side. The product-page FAQ gives a shorter 4-foot stair distance, so use the more conservative 5-foot warning in the guide unless iRobot provides updated model-specific instructions. Dock dimensions are not listed; budget extra floor space.
Who should consider it?
The 507 makes most sense if you want recurring vacuuming and mopping, prefer spinning pads to a flat cloth or roller, and value a dock that empties dust and refreshes, washes and dries the pads. It is less compelling if you mostly vacuum, want minimal dock upkeep, need a published tank size or dock-wash temperature, require a known Wi-Fi band or need proven high-pile support. Those unknowns do not make the machine incapable; they mean the exact requirement cannot be matched confidently.
Compare the 507 with the Roomba Plus 505 Combo if you are choosing between those AutoWash packages: the checked 505 carton includes spare mop pads while the 507 includes a spare filter, and the 507 guide gives the more restrictive stair-placement warning. Do not assume one cleans better from those box differences. The Roomba 105 Combo + AutoEmpty is a simpler alternative if a flat removable cloth is sufficient: its dock empties dust but does not wash and dry its mop pad. If you do not need wet cleaning at all, compare a vacuum-only Roomba with an AutoEmpty dock instead.
