Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network reach the station?
The U.S. US-A00 manual says only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is supported and explicitly rejects 5 GHz.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the manufacturer-listed 75°C dock pad-wash claim enough, or is a higher minimum essential?
Dreame lists pad washing up to 75°C/167°F at the base-station outlet; the temperature may vary and it is not floor-mop water. An 80°C minimum is not documented.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a 2 cm single-step maximum claim sufficient for your route?
Dreame lists 20 mm for AE. The separate standard L40s Ultra 40 mm two-layer claim does not transfer; a 3 cm single step is not confirmed.
Explore this need in the finder →The Dreame L40s Ultra AE is a distinct U.S. package, not a color variation of the standard L40s Ultra or CE. Its manual names robot RLL77SE and station RCLE0405 / RCLE0405-2. The U.S. listing separates black SKU 010204AA000764 from white SKU 010204AA000759. The black card image is the matching robot-and-station render; its warranty emblem is artwork, not evidence of coverage. Both colors were marked available at capture, not guaranteed stock.
Same headline suction as the standard Ultra, different tradeoffs
Dreame lists 19,000 Pa maximum suction, the same headline figure as the standard Ultra; it is a maker maximum, not a pickup score or comparative test. The AE’s navigation is different: its U.S. page describes RGB AI with 3D structured-light avoidance, and its manual labels dual-line 3D laser sensors. Dreame advertises recognition of more than 120 obstacle types, not a promise that it will identify every cord or small object. Clear clutter and supervise first runs.
The AE’s product page lists a 20 mm threshold figure. It does not give the standard Ultra’s separate 40 mm double-layer crossing condition, so do not transfer that larger number between siblings. A 20 mm maximum is a maker claim, not a guarantee across a shaped sill, thick rug edge or approach angle. If a 3 cm single step is essential, the published AE claim is below that request. Measure the actual transition and keep margin instead of treating the product-page maximum as a promise.
Understand the brush package before making it a hair-management choice
The installed brush is a liftable rubber brush; Dreame’s package list also includes a TriCut Brush 3.0. That is a supplied alternative, not evidence from a comparative hair-wrap test. If TriCut matters, confirm it is in your carton and plan to swap it; the robot does not change brushes automatically. The CE page only says “TriCut,” not version 3.0; the standard Ultra names a HyperStream DuoBrush. Do not merge those exact-model facts.
Dual pads, extension and lift—but no automatic mop removal
The AE has two spinning mop pads, a listed 10.5 mm mop lift and Dreame’s MopExtend feature. Its manual describes vacuuming, mopping and vacuum-then-mop routines, and the station refills the robot’s tank during the mopping cycle. The family table does not list automatic mop-mount removal for the AE. That matters if you want vacuum-only carpet runs with the pads left at the station: the standard L40s Ultra can remove its mop assembly for that routine, while the AE and CE are not listed with that facility. Lifting a pad is not a carpet-pile rating. No maximum pile height is published for this AE, so a household with deep rugs that must be crossed should treat fit as unconfirmed rather than infer support from the lift mechanism.
The station automates wash care but still uses tanks
The included station empties dust, washes and dries the mop pads, refills the robot from removable clean-water storage, and has a self-cleaning washboard feature. Dreame lists 4.5 L clean-water and 4.0 L used-water tanks and a 3.2 L dust bag. The base also adds Dreame-approved cleaning solution automatically. The exact page lists pad washing with water up to 75°C/167°F; that is a dock pad-wash claim with a variable outlet temperature, not the temperature of the water the robot puts on the floor. The manual says not to pour hot water into the clean-water tank and restricts cleaning solution to the approved product. Empty used water after a run and plan to clean the tanks, pads, washboard and sensors as directed. A wash-and-dry dock reduces some handwashing but does not eliminate periodic service.
The station is a removable-tank design, not an included fixed supply-and-drain kit. Dreame says a water hookup kit is a separate purchase and is available only in selected regions; do not assume it works with this U.S. offer. The manual specifies a nominal grounded 120 V circuit and no adapter, and approximately 3.5 hours to recharge. App setup requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi; a 5 GHz-only network is not a documented fit. Confirm a compatible signal reaches the station location before buying.
Where the AE belongs in the L40s shortlist
Choose the AE when its combination of 19,000 Pa listed suction, camera-and-dual-line sensing, included brush alternative, extending dual-pad mop and 75°C dock wash matches your routine. The standard L40s Ultra is the better documented fit if automatic mop-mount removal or the separately qualified 40 mm two-rise claim is essential. The CE keeps the dual-pad and wash/dry routine but drops the numeric hot-water dock-wash claim and camera detail, while its solution module is sold separately. Those differences change questionnaire results; the three names are not one configuration.
The AE is not the safe answer for a 5 GHz-only home, a required 3 cm single sill, a must-clean high-pile rug with a stated height limit, a 75°C floor-water requirement, or a dock that must connect to fixed plumbing out of the box. If those are hard constraints, unknown details should disqualify it rather than be filled in from another L40s manual.
Sources and limits
This assessment uses Dreame’s U.S. L40s Ultra AE page, the U.S. L40s comparison, the AE US-A00 user manual, and the exact native U.S. collection row and variant records. The page and manual identify RLL77SE with RCLE0405 / RCLE0405-2; the manual specifies 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, 120 V / 60 Hz input and station output. Suction, obstacle-count, threshold, temperature, capacity and battery figures are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. No exact Amazon ASIN, recall-free guarantee or maximum supported carpet pile was established.
