A practical comparison
Roomba Max 705 or Max 707 Combo?
The Roomba Max 705 Combo X185020 and Max 707 Combo X186020 are separate U.S. product identities, not interchangeable titles for one item. Both exact iRobot pages list a PowerSpin roller mop and AutoWash dock, the same base robot dimensions, and the same headline robot/dock service claims. Neither page supplies an independent test showing that one cleans better. Compare the SKU and the actual carton list before you decide which offer suits you.
Start with the exact item number
The 705 Combo is black item X185020, Product ID/GTIN 885155045744; its separately listed white finish is X185220, GTIN 885155045751. The 707 Combo page identifies X186020, Product ID/GTIN 885155045768. The Max 705X Combo is a third package, X184020. The matching series name is not evidence that the robots, docks or replacement parts are interchangeable. Confirm the item number on the seller's listing and on the carton.
The clearest listed difference is in the box
The X185020 Max 705 carton list names two extra side brushes, an extra filter, one extra dust bag, a line cord and a 30 mL concentrate sample. X186020 Max 707 lists three extra AutoEmpty bags, six extra side brushes, a 300 mL concentrate sample and a line cord. The lists differ in both quantities and named consumables; this is useful when estimating what is supplied at the start, but it does not prove better pickup, longer runtime or compatible parts. Read the full list for the exact SKU you are considering rather than relying on a model-family headline.
Do not infer a performance tier from the number
Both pages describe the same PowerSpin roller concept, AutoWash dust transfer and roller wash/dry, four cleaning modes, four suction levels, three liquid levels and SmartScrub. They both list a 14.65-by-14.4-by-4.13-inch robot and an 18-by-16.9-by-17-inch dock. The 707 page also gives qualified suction and mopping comparisons, but no independent side-by-side result against the 705. A repeated headline specification is not a comparative measurement, and the bundle difference is not a cleaning test.
For either package, the roller dock still needs owner attention: fill and empty tanks, replace bags, clean brushes and contacts, and keep the roller and dock area clear. The product pages do not state the water-tank capacity, numeric wash-water temperature, supported Wi-Fi band, maximum threshold crossing or supported carpet-pile height. The Max 700-series Combo family guide documents removable water tanks and floor-care cautions; follow the exact instructions that come with your model and your flooring maker's advice.
Choose by your home, then verify the carton
Either model may suit a home that wants a self-serviced roller mop and bagged dust-emptying station, has space for the dock, and is willing to refill and empty tanks. Both have a listed 4.13-inch robot height, so a 4.25-inch opening is a nominal body-height pass with little margin and a strict 4-inch limit is not. A carpet cover and automatic avoidance in wet modes do not establish a pile-height rating. If you require a named Wi-Fi band, fixed plumbing or a numeric 75°C wash-water claim, neither page confirms it.
